Hi Church!
Do you have any “bad” habits? Maybe one or two? Do you eat too much? Do you have a spending problem? Are you a procrastinator? Are you a chronic complainer?
We all have habits that we want to change. But habits can be hard to break. Merriam-Webster defines a habit as a “usual way of behaving: something that a person does often in a regular and repeated way.” Our daily habits define us. Ralph Waldo Emerson said it like this, “sow a thought and you reap an action; so an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny.” So with the start of a new year, you may be thinking about some habits that you would like to break.
On Sunday I will be sharing a message “ONE Habit that WILL Change Your Life” Many books have been written about how to change your life. But, I can assure you that this one habit will help you reach your God given destiny! Join us at 9:30 for a great service and sweet time of worship.
Here are some other important updates:
There is a baptism on Sunday! Two individuals are going public with their faith and commitment to follow Jesus. Praise the Lord!
Beginning Sunday, 1/9, we will be having two services.
The early service will begin at 9:30 am, and the second will start at 11 am. We have three goals:
1. Identity. More room means it will be easier for us to maintain identity and fellowship. With the large influx of winter residents, it is easy for our full-time residents to get “lost” in the crowd.
2. Health. Spreading out over two services will lower our risk of spreading any flu or virus.
3. Growth. More rooms means there will be plenty of room for new guests. And more options/flexibility often leads to more attendees.
4. Ministry. This opens opportunities for more people to serve in many ministries: greeting, music, security, children, adult Bible study, and sound. More info on Sunday.
We are Going Solar Powered!
On Sunday the church officially voted to purchase solar panels to provide the energy needed for the facility. This is a very good decision. The facts speak for themselves, and it was great to have two very successful business men tell me after the service that this is a very wise thing to do. It is great financial stewardship.
Every dollar given to this project has a daily return. It is the gift that keeps on giving. The solar panels are going to allow the church to funnel more than $200,000 over the next 20+ years into ministry! Those who have committed to give to this project can mark their checks and envelopes or online giving as solar panel project. At this time we have approx. 35k committed of the 55k needed. Please pray and give as God leads you. If everyone does what they can, we can pay for this. Once we have received 35k, we will sign the contract and begin the project. If we need to borrow funds, we have an individual in the church who is willing to loan the church up to 20k interest free for the next 3 years.
As we learned on Sunday, God Has been and Will Continue to be our dwelling place for all generations. He was in 2021 and He will be in 2022.
So May He “establish the work of our hands”.
In His Good Grip,
Pastor Michael
