The Reasons People Do Not Change… Just Look at a Garden… Important Prayer Updates…

Faith Baptist of Zephyrhills

Oct 13, 2021

Hi Church!

Why don’t people change? It is simple: Jesus said just look at a person planting a field/garden. It is the same reason why some seeds do not produce a crop. There is a soil problem. There is hard soil, shallow soil, weedy soil and good soil. And all of us fall into one of those four categories.

Some people are hard-headed. They don’t want to change. God’s words of love and wisdom fall on deaf ears. They are spiritually deaf. They may even mock the truth and throw it to the wind as foolishness. They are stubborn at best.

Some people desperately want to change. They are the first ones to sign up for the newest opportunity. They may buy the latest book that promises them success. They may look for a new church thinking that is the answer. But it is an inside problem. Their desires soon wane under the challenges of transformation and the temptation to take the seemingly easy route. They wilt and soon wither away. They are superficial at best.

Some people get off to a great start and show great promise. But life is about staying the course and remaining focused. There are so many things to do. And after a while they allow other competing issues to distract them. Their time and energy is limited and their path and plans get choked out. And they drop out. They are sidetracked at best.

But some people not only want to change, they hunger to learn, and do what is necessary to change. They work through the growth pains and stay the course to a productive end.

Join us on Sunday as we learn how to avoid the common pitfalls of being a “healthy and the path to a productive life.
